TECHNICAL FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The batteries in Nomad Deluxe only last about 20 minutes, is there a problem?

•No. The Nomad Deluxe has a power consumption of about 1 amp. A 9-volt battery provides 500mA of power, this means, on full volume a 9-volt battery will last about 20 minutes. To overcome this we offer the Battery Pack Strap. It uses 6 AA batteries and power the Nomad Deluxe for about 4 hours.

If I take the battery out of my Sustainer-equipped guitar, will I still get signal from the other pickups?

•No. Sustainer-equipped guitars must have a battery to operate, even if you're not using the sustainer.

Can I use the bridge pickup of my choice with the Sustainer?

•Yes. The Sustainer will function with a wide variety of bridge pickups, although some will work better than others. The bridge pickup supplied with the FSK-401 kit is a good option, but Seymour Duncan, Dimarzio and EMG pickups work well in most guitars.

Can I place the Sustainer driver in the middle pickup position?

•No. The Sustainer driver is designed to work in the neck position only.

Can I place a pickup next to the Sustainer driver?

•Yes, but be advised that Sustainer's performance can be affected by the magnetic field of neighbouring pickup resulting in dead points or strings that won't sustain. Active pickups, such as EMG or Dimarzio active units are recommended since they function with low flux magnets.
